Ceremony Music – Planning

The most common ceremony musical setup involves a minimum of three song movements: preludes, processionals and recessionals. The prelude music is designed to be ambient and light, creating a relaxing atmosphere while the guests are being seated and waiting for the ceremony to begin. Prelude music should also begin no later than 20 minutes before the beginning of the ceremony.

The processional follows, which marks the commencement of the ceremony. It is at this time the extended wedding party enters. This can include family, flower girls, ring bearers and wedding party. Following this is the entrance of the bride. A change of song traditionally takes place here to add drama and accentuate her entrance.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the recessional plays. This is the music that accompanies the exit of the wedding party. Traditionally this music is bright and lively as a reflection of celebration.

Each of our ensembles has a leader who will act as a liaison to the client, ensuring every musical detail for your ceremony.
